I'm a teacher trying to analyze what I should be teaching my students to do with AI. I've determined that they need a strong base level of background knowledge to be able to operate the AI in any useful way, but I'm not clear if it will be possible to teach average IQ people to use AI well. (I'm +3 SD, and I can't believe what I can do with it, but when I try to explain it to others, they don't seem to get it.)
Anyone who could rationalize killing themselves or otherwise going Schizo, would have probably done so anyway. This really speaks to the lack of meaningful connection to other people and social media obsession over "validation", no matter how absurd or dangerous.
If it wasn't for Vox's AI writing, I would not have believed AI was even readable as literature, but since I have, it's capable of being far more compelling than most authors.
So it is completely the driver of the AI making it happen, since the AI can't direct or constrain itself. Low quality driver, low quality output.

That doesn’t surprise me in the slightest. In my view, humans are rapidly forgetting the art of storytelling in the 21st Century, replacing the fundamentals with fan service such as spectacle and porn. An AI, trained on the right materials, is going to have a basic level of narrative competence that most people don’t.
I hope this isn't too tangential, but GPT-4's personalization made it your buddy, reflecting the user's perspectives, including user craziness. GPT 5 moved back from relational to transactional and collapsed the multiple models into one. Some users were unhappy with the loss of view reinforcement. 4o is now back in the dropdown. People like their own craziness.
I've been using it extensively for my subdivision construction and a little with farming. Writers already have higher IQs.
I'd guess you are in top 95% performance using AI than most people in the trades. This is better than Pareto 80% because I'm guessing it's modeled around 100 IQ. In farming and trades IQ tends to be much lower perhaps in 85 depending on field.
You'll likely not hear this as much since you're lucky if farming and construction guys can even text. We augment our hands on crew with remote support staff familiar with AI to help provide better engineered solutions. Like Mission Control and the actual astronauts.
It just depends on competency of the guys on the ground.
Assuming a competent foreman, you could just assign him to one of the support guys. Otherwise, you can share one support with multiple guys. It just depends on task.

This is a major threat to our overproduction of elites. Is AI really quality control?
