I do suspect the clowns will turn-off/dumb-down generative AI for most users once they hit their ceiling and think the cheap access isn't doing them more good.
I feel there is a period we are getting now of basically "free access" and then like the internet, they will clamp it down way more in the future, so it sucks and only people who work in special places get the good stuff.

This reminds of all the photo booths that popped up around the early 2000s, when digital technology first started applying filters. It was a big deal that you could get a picture taken that looked like a drawing. Artists were going to go out of business!

There are no quality people in big companies anymore. It is completely impossible to get a job in a corporation if you are HIQ or high on the SSH, and if you are both you're not even going to pass a 2 minute conversation with HR. Which is really a timesaver, since no such person is going to stay there longer than a month. The only thing that big companies can do that is potentially profitable is massive projects that the competition lacks the infrastructure to operate on, and AI is not one of those. Even then they make the profit by renting the infrastructure to smaller contractors that can actually make use of it.
Good. Excessive concentration is One of the biggest drags on the economy (never mind the culture), if you are not exagerating, it will be partially self-correcting. The regulatory and financialization angles remain, ofc.
Corporations are, by and large, completely retarded about new technologies. That's why startups so often trounce larger, much more established companies that have every advantage.
That's why they're agitating to start a new war with China: they're catching up and about to beat western business not because they're cheaper, but better.
