The bit about the editor layer becoming model-agnostic is spot on. That's basically been the whole thesis behind OpenCode's growth; 75+ providers, same interface, swap models depending on what you're working on. I've been running it daily and the provider freedom genuinely changes how you think about tooling lock-in. Have you tried cursor or any of these tools? Is it better then copilot you think?

I run Claude Code in a VS Code sidebar. It's phenomenal and the crazy thing is there's still tremendous room for improvement.

These articles are very helpful and fascinating. It seems like this industry is growing so much faster than anything else. I wonder what the landscape is going to look like in another 6 to 12 months.
